E-commerce is what pays the bills, but a deep understanding of our Customer to drive actionable insights, personalized content, and a great UX is what makes us special and unique. You have a strong foundation in ecommerce, a passion to serve our Customer, a vision for the next generation user experience, and the ability to deliver actionable data insights to our teams.

This role is equal parts strategic visionary and executor. You are a roll up your sleeves kind of leader, and a great day-to-day manager with a focus on building high performing teams. Overtime, the right candidate will grow into the companies CTO.

Responsibilities:

Set the technical vision and strategy to achieve the company's mission and vision

·        

Lead 2 of our 3 technical functions - Engineering plus Product or Data - with opportunity to inherit all 3 overtime

·        

Hire, mentor, and retain exceptional technical talent through engineer goal setting and development plans

·        

Act as strategic partner to functional leaders in Merchandising, Media, Marketing, Data, and Ops to successfully execute our strategy

·        

Oversee budget and meet / exceed goals and KPIs

·        

Focus on results while thinking strategically and balancing both short and long term strategies

·        

Enable product and content personalization

·        

Constantly innovating our tech stack, and evaluation / scoping for new integrations, projects and features

·        

Ownership of software and systems

Requirements

·        

5+ years managing engineering teams; experience managing data and/or product a plus

·        

3+ years direct experience in e-commerce

·        

Proven track record of hiring, developing and mentoring technical talent

·        

Expertise with Ruby on Rails, React, and Looker

·        

Superior verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to all audiences and collaborate with senior leaders across the company

·        

Proven track record of meeting strategic deliverables

·        

Creative problem solver

·        

Deep network to hire quickly, research, and test ideas

·        

No formal degree required
